Al-Anon

Al-Anon:  Al-Anon is a support program for people affected by a loved one's alcoholism. It provides a safe and confidential space for members to share their experiences and feelings, and to learn from others who have gone through similar struggles. The program is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). The primary  purpose of Al-Anon is to help family members and friends of alcoholics find their own healing.

Nar-Anon

Nar-Anon:  Nar-Anon is a support program for individuals who have been affected by a  loved one's addiction to drugs. It is a 12-step program based on the principles of Narcotics Anonymous (NA) but is separate and independent from NA. The program provides a safe and confidential space for members  to share their experiences and feelings, and to learn from others who  have gone through similar struggles. Nar-Anon focuses on helping its members cope with the effects of addiction on their lives and relationships, and it aims to provide support and hope to those who have  been affected by someone else's addiction.

ACA

Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families:  Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACoA) is a support group designed to help individuals who grew up in families with alcoholism or dysfunction. These individuals often carry unresolved emotional baggage from their childhood, which can negatively affect their adult relationships and overall quality of life.

ACoA meetings provide a safe space for individuals to share their experiences, gain support from others who can relate, and learn coping mechanisms to overcome the challenges they face. The program emphasizes the importance of self-care, boundaries, and healthy communication.

ACoA is not only for individuals with alcoholic parents, but also for those who grew up in homes with other types of dysfunction, such as abuse, neglect, or mental illness. The program is based on the belief that healing and recovery are possible, and that individuals can break the cycle of dysfunction and create a fulfilling life for themselves.

NaCOA

National Association for Children of Addiction: NACoA envisions a future where no child suffering from family addiction is left without support. If you're coping with a parent who misuses alcohol or drugs, or know someone who is, the NACoA is here to assist you. NACoA provides resources for everyone, including tools and training for professionals to better support those affected by family alcohol and drug dependency. Their diverse range of programs and products is specifically designed to offer support and assistance both at home and in the workplace.

As the sole national membership organization dedicated to children of parents dealing with alcohol or substance abuse, NACoA also extends its efforts internationally through affiliates in the UK, Germany, Poland, New Zealand, and Brazil.

FA

Families Anonymous: Families Anonymous provides a supportive 12 Step fellowship for family  members and friends who have felt overwhelmed by the destructive behavior of a loved one, whether due to substance abuse or related issues. In their meetings, you'll find a community of individuals who understand your struggles and offer empathy and support. They welcome anyone who is concerned, even if they're unsure of the extent of the  problem.
